DTS-Gotcha Racing wins at Brands Hatch
Locost Driver, David Bartholomew, enjoyed great success at the most recent round at Brands Hatch securing a 5th place finish on the Saturday, followed by a 1st on the Sunday. Having qualified in 6th place for Sunday’s event, Bartholomew made the best start of the 35 teams entered, recording a first lap over 3 seconds quicker than the rest of the pack and ensuring he was in the leading group of three for the first laps around the difficult Brands Hatch circuit. An incident filled race gave the front two chance to extend their lead over the chasing pack and when the yellow flag disappeared, Bartholomew pounced on the opportunity and made a very brave move through the first corner, that had caused so many accidents over the weekend, to take the lead that he would not relinquish.
The results now move Bartholomew up to 2nd in the Championship, trailing the leader by just 7 points with 4 rounds remaining. Bruce Lauder, Commercial Director DTS Construction Services, was on hand to present David with his awards and congratulate him on an exceptional race, as pictured above. After the win, David commented, “Brands has always been somewhat of a nemesis of mine. I always race well here, but one mistake anywhere on the circuit and your race is over - I am thrilled this year with two points finishes and to finally break my duck and win here is truly incredible.”
